Jason Furman said that the Fed has entered a new stage where they need a reason to cut interest rates. Last year, the Fed believed that 'everything is fine, so why not cut rates.' However, if the labor market remains healthy and considering concerns about inflation prospects and uncertainty about whether the interest rate is already in the best position to slow demand, a 25 basis point rate cut this year is the most likely thing to happen.
