Uniswap Foundation Sees $140M in Q1 Earnings, Commits $12.4M to Funding Grants - Cryptured.com
The Uniswap Foundation posted $140.3 million in revenue and pledged $12.4 million in new grants for Q1 2025.
A report released by the Uniswap Foundation on May 23 stated that the majority of the revenue came from a $140 million donation that was authorized by Uniswap government. The rest came from dividends and interest.
Around $95 million in assets, comprising 257 Ethereum, 15.8 million UNI tokens, and $53.4 million in USD and stablecoins, were held by the Foundation as of March 31.
In exchange for a $29 million loan, an additional 5 million UNI were given as security, enabling the Foundation to raise money while lessening its market power. $15.3 million has been set aside for previous liabilities, $99.8 million for 2025 and 2026, and $115.1 million.
Furthermore, the Foundation allocated $33.3 million for operations and employee compensation through January 2027.
The new Q1 funding totaled $12.4 million, of which $9.9 million was allocated to multi-year projects through 2029. Depending on performance goals, Unichain Partners may choose to repay some grants.
As the foundation’s primary infrastructure for global digital banking, Uniswap and its layer-2 network, Unichain, were the centerpiece of its Q1 strategy. Increasing sustainable income models, sustaining long-term contributions, financing developer tools and education, and enhancing capital efficiency across EVM chains were among the top priorities.
Operating expenses totaled $1.9 million for the quarter, excluding $100,000 in UNI tokens distributed to employees. Among the costs were personnel, software, events, marketing, and consulting and legal fees.
Following a number of noteworthy milestones, including the introduction of Unichain in early 2025 and the attainment of a $3 trillion lifetime trading volume, Uniswap released the update. A step generally regarded as beneficial for the decentralized finance ecosystem was made in February when the Securities and Exchange Commission concluded its inquiry into Uniswap Labs without taking any further action.
The Foundation will provide additional information on awards, spending, and its financial status in a Q2 financial update.
