A Pantheon Macro chief British economist, Rob Wood, said in a report on March 6 that British enterprises' expectations for inflation one year later rose from 3.0% in January to 3.1% in February, indicating that the downward trend in inflation has ended. He said, "According to data from the Banco Central decision-making group in the UK, as enterprises pass on wage tax increases and US President Trump's tariff threats to prices, the anti-inflation trend has ended." The Banco Central decision-making group survey also shows that enterprises expect the interest rate of Banco Central to drop from the current 4.5% to 3.9% in one year.
