Ecosystem Airdrop, create stablecoin, issue coin by yourself... A review of the "slick moves" of Sui game console.

SuiPlay0X1 is a Web3 gaming handheld developed in collaboration between Sui and Playtron (a handheld operating system developer), supporting traditional platform games such as Steam and Epic, and allowing for a one-click switch to the Sui chain game mode; the pre-sale device is bound to the "Eternal" soul-bound NFT, divided into "Mythic" (the first 1,700 pieces) and "Exalted" tiers, with different level NFT holders enjoying airdrops and whitelist qualifications from multiple project parties.

SuiPlay0X1 was launched for pre-sale in early September last year and officially sold out 10,000 units by the end of April this year. At the SuiBaseCamp 2025 held in Dubai in May, SuiPlay0X1 officially showcased the real machine and announced that it will start shipping this summer.

Ecological Airdrop

From the launch of the presale to the final sellout, there have been continuous messages about ecological airdrops driving the momentum behind it. What ecological airdrops has SuiPlay received?

First of all, it should be noted that users who pre-order the console will receive the soul-bound "Eternal" NFT through the Sui address generated by their Playtron account, and the ecological airdrop will also be received by that address. Currently, Playtron is hosting that address, and the community speculates that after the devices are shipped, it may be transferred to the users for self-custody.

I am one of the first 1,700 pre-purchasers, holding the "Myth" NFT. This Sui address has received the following tokens: including the Sui ecosystem Perp DEX Bluefin token BLUE, the lending protocol Scallop token SCA, Meme coin HIPPO, etc., with a total value of approximately 70 USD.

In addition to the 8 certified tokens shown in the above image, SuiPlay NFT holders have also received over 40 unverified tokens (mostly Meme) by the blockchain explorer. Some token airdrops do not cover all NFT holders but are conducted through random selection. For instance, Sui Name Service randomly selected 500 airdrops of 1000 NS tokens among "Myth" NFT holders (currently valued at approximately 260 USD).

At the same time, some token airdrops are distributed in the form of NFTs, which need to be claimed later. For example, I received an NFT that can be claimed for 113 Walrus tokens (WAL), worth over $70. Another project that uses the same airdrop method is the entertainment project Double Up on Sui (with the token UP).

In addition, some projects have made airdrop commitments early on, but the specific airdrop will wait until the project goes live / SuiPlay devices are shipped, such as Fud the Pug, one of the leading Meme coins in the Sui ecosystem.

G Dollar stablecoin

On May 2, 2025, Sui, Playtron, and M0 (a stablecoin infrastructure provider) launched the programmable stablecoin G Dollar aimed at gaming scenarios during SuiBaseCamp. This coin is pegged to the US dollar and backed by US short-term Treasury bonds, and can be used for consumption, subscriptions, and rewards distribution within handheld devices and other GameOS platforms. Its programmable features support fee reductions, instant withdrawals, and new revenue models.

Why are Sui and Playtron creating stablecoins? The official response provides three reasons:

Innovative economic model: Programmable stablecoins and on-chain reward mechanisms empower developers to innovate income sources, facilitating the flow of assets both in and out of games.

Upgrade Player Incentives: Attract more players and Web2 game developers to the Sui ecosystem through multi-layered incentives and direct airdrops, driving user growth.

Synergistic ecological effects: Joint airdrops of multiple projects and G Dollar wallet compatibility strategies help integrate on-chain games with cross-platform interactions, further enhancing Sui's competitiveness as a gaming underlying chain.

Direct participation in the issuance of ecological stablecoins shows Sui's full commitment to the gaming sector.

PLAY token?

Playtron is rumored to be planning to issue the PLAY token, which may be additionally airdropped to handheld device users. In comparison, this is equivalent to Solana's Saga phone issuing a token separately, which has no precedent in the industry.

However, the Playtron team has not yet announced detailed issuance plans and token economic models, only "stimulating imagination" on their social accounts. If the PLAY token is ultimately confirmed, it may further activate the ecological economy layer gameplay through the token, enhancing user stickiness.

Conclusion

SuiPlay0X1 combines soul-bound NFTs with multi-project airdrop gameplay, replicating the "wealth effect" path of the Solana Saga phone, and also features a slight innovation with NFT grading; the launch of G Dollar addresses the pain points of game asset settlement; overall, SuiPlay's "cool operations" are advancing simultaneously on three fronts: hardware, tokens, and stablecoins, bringing benefits to early users, and building a more robust economic and financial foundation for the Sui game ecosystem. The effectiveness of subsequent executions is expected to further test its sustainability and attractiveness.
