Polygon executive: RWA is a $30 trillion opportunity
Colin Butler, Global Head of Institutional Capital at Polygon, stated that tokenization of Real World Assets (RWAs) represents a $30 trillion market opportunity worldwide, according to Jinse Finance. High-net-worth individuals and private sale equity funds will drive adoption in this space as tokenization brings liquidity and accessibility. Butler pointed out that the real world asset market of tokenization has reached USD 11.66 billion, and it is expected to rise significantly in the future. About USD 9 billion has been invested in private sale credit tools for tokenization, with major examples including KKR and Hamilton Lane. Butler expects that there will be billions of dollars of tokenization private sale asset issuance in the next few years. Currently, the tokenization RWAs held on the Blockchain network are about USD 11.6 billion, with the most popular being currency market funds for tokenization, such as BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund and Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund.
