The Dardanelles Strait in Turkey has reopened.

Jin10 data reported on August 10 that the Turkish Coast Guard's website announced on August 9 that international shipping routes through the Dardanelles Strait, which had been closed due to wildfires in the northwestern province of Çanakkale, began to resume operations early on the morning of the 9th. The Dardanelles Strait, along with the Sea of Marmara and the Bosphorus Strait, forms the Turkish Straits, which is the only waterway connecting the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, and is also one of the busiest waterways in the world. Official data shows that nearly 46,000 vessels are expected to pass through the Dardanelles Strait in 2024.
