Is it true that someone paid 3.7 million dollars for a Cardano transaction (ADA)?
According to data from Whale Alert, a recent Cardano transaction (ADA) was recorded with a fee of up to 3.7 million ADA (equivalent to 3.7 million USD), shocking the community. However, in reality, the transaction fee was only 1.6 ADA (approximately 0.83 USD).
The incident stemmed from Whale Alert's bot misinterpreting the entire transferred amount as "fees" instead of the total value of the transaction. SecurityBot founder Josh Marchand pointed out that Whale Alert miscalculated the fees based on the difference between inputs and outputs, resulting in a completely inaccurate figure.
Whale Alert then issued a clarification, stating that the incident occurred due to data restrictions from the Cardano node, and they have now disabled the "fee burn" tracking feature with ADA to avoid confusion in the future.
