The XRP Ledger's EVM sidechain reached 1,400 smart contracts in the first week.

The EVM-compatible sidechain of the XRP Ledger is drawing attention from developers, with over 1,400 smart contracts deployed just in the first week of its launch. Peersyst reported that nearly 1,400 contracts have been active during this time, but the user rate remains modest, with over 80% of the 1,211 new accounts created in the first two days. The number of regularly active accounts is under 150, indicating limited daily usage.

However, technically, the EVM sidechain operates stably, having processed over 1.12 million blocks with an average block time of 5.66 seconds and no recent pending transactions. The network has processed over 1,644 XRP transactions, with an average transaction cost of only 0.048 XRP, demonstrating its appeal as a low-cost, developer-friendly blockchain.
