Polls show that Shigeru Ishiba's support rate in Japan has risen ahead of the election.

Gate News bot message, the latest public opinion poll shows that after the government took measures to address the high rice prices issue, public support for Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has risen, which is a positive signal for Ishiba as he prepares for the upcoming elections and attempts to reach a trade agreement with the United States.

A weekend opinion poll conducted by Kyodo News showed that the support rate for the Shimbo cabinet is 37.0%, up from 31.7% in the May survey.

Another opinion poll conducted by the Asahi Shimbun shows a support rate of 32%, which is not much different from the 33% in the May survey. The high rice prices are one of the biggest concerns for voters ahead of the July Senate elections.

The Shiba Shou government has released part of the government rice stockpile and held a ministerial meeting to address the rice supply issue.
