Elon Musk warns America is on the brink of bankruptcy — Saying he can’t take it anymore

Elon Musk has spoken out sharply against the new spending bill passed by Congress, calling it a "disgusting abomination" and expressing his outrage on his social media platform X. In a post that quickly drew attention, Musk stated:

"I’m sorry, but I really can’t take it anymore. This huge, absurd spending bill full of ‘fat’ is a disgusting shame."

He added:

"It's shameful for those who voted in favor of it: you know that it's wrong. You know it."

Musk's criticism aimed at the "Beautiful One Law Act" — a large-scale tax and spending reform package supported by President Donald Trump, which has just been passed by the House of Representatives and is now awaiting Senate consideration.

According to the Responsible Federal Budget Committee, the bill could increase the main budget deficit by $2.5 trillion over the next 10 years, or $3.1 trillion if interest is included. If temporary provisions such as the expansion of the child tax credit and tax exemptions for tips and overtime become permanent, the total debt could rise to $5.1 trillion, including interest rates.

Musk continued in another post:

"It will significantly increase the already huge budget deficit to 2.5 trillion USD (!!!) and push the people of America into an unsustainable burden of debt."

In addition, he also wrote:

"Congress is driving America to bankruptcy."

Former head of the Government Efficiency Bureau (D.O.G.E), Musk has repeatedly spoken out about poor financial management. He recently announced the end of his role as a special government employee, thanking President Trump and stating that the mission of DOGE will continue to be carried out within the government apparatus.

Musk has long been an advocate for decentralized financial systems such as cryptocurrency, which are transparent, not reliant on central government, and allow people to have better control over their assets. According to him, blockchain technologies can help reduce waste, limit fraud, and create a fairer financial system — something that the government is clearly failing at.

Musk's statements have ignited a more intense debate over public spending. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has defended the bill, calling it essential to maintain tax incentives and support national priorities.

However, many people have shared Musk's views. Senator Rand Paul, for example, wrote on X:

"I agree with Elon. We've both seen huge waste of government spending, and we know that another $5 trillion in debt is a big mistake. We can and must do better."

Amid rising public debt and an increasingly lack of transparency in the traditional financial system, many are looking to cryptocurrencies as a potential alternative — a system in which financial power is no longer concentrated in a minority, but belongs to the entire population.
