Solana plans to expand block space to 100M CU by the end of the year.
According to Gate.io News bot, Wu Shuo reported that the Vice President of Core Engineering at Solana ecosystem development company Anza announced in a podcast that the Solana block space will expand to a block limit of 100M CU by the end of the year, doubling the current capacity.
Compute Units (CU) is a unit of measurement of transaction computing resources in the Solana network, similar to Ethereum's Gas mechanism, responsible for limiting transaction complexity and protecting network resources. Currently, Solana's block limit is 48M CU, and there are two related proposals: SIMD-0207 proposes to increase the block limit to 50M CU and SIMD-0256 proposes to increase it to 60M CU.
The increase in the block CU limit will expand the block size and impose higher performance requirements on validating nodes.
