In a recent TechFlow news, Walrus Foundation announced the appointment of Rebecca Simmonds as Executive Director, responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing strategic leadership, and driving the development of the Walrus ecosystem.

Rebecca Simmonds, as a member of the Vega Protocol founding team, has extensive experience in expanding blockchain projects and cultivating developer communities, and will be a significant force in guiding and driving the rapid development of the Walrus Protocol.

It is reported that the Walrus Foundation is a core contributor to the Walrus Protocol. Walrus is a decentralized storage network that can store and transmit large data files from any Web2 or Web3-based, including rich media content, audio files, video, images, and PDFs. The protocol launched its testnet in October 2024 and will soon officially launch its mainnet, all coordinated by Sui as the service provider, giving it strong advantages as a fully programmable data platform in scalability, security, and more.
